Looking back at a successful first edition of Wood Expo Kempen

Last October the first edition of Wood Expo Kempen took place in Belgium. It was a small-scale woodworking fair organized by our exclusive SCM partner for this market, Rogiers, and the industrial joinery, Kempa Products, specialising in the manufacture of kitchen doors and has a wide and extensive range of SCM machines: a cutting-edge dmc eurosystem wide belt sander, some “accord” CNC machining centres, a morbidelli cx drilling solution, two stefani and olimpic edgebanders and some joinery machines.

Both Rogiers and Kempa Products were pleasantly surprised with the numerous attendances of woodworkers and professional interior designers. Around 350 businesses and over 1000 visitors explored the manufacturing process of Kempa Products, discovered the wide range of SCM machines at Rogiers and experienced the various products and services offered by the participating partners.

Visitors were guided past eight partners, including sharpening service providers, ‘Leitz’, ‘Wood-You’, and ‘Soethoudt’. Panel manufacturer and supplier ‘Witon’, lumberyard ‘Yepp’ and sanding specialist ‘Grits’. Rogier's showroom featured furniture fittings from ‘Van Opstal’ as well as maintenance products from ‘Promanté’ were presented.

At the end of the tour, there was a wooden bike of which visitors had to guess its weight as close as possible, to win a luxury spa weekend. Jasper Phillipsen, a member of the bike racing team Alpecin-Fenix-Deceuninck, came also to the event to hand over a personally signed shirt to give to the winner of the lottery.

Both event organizers and all partners were satisfied with the outcome of this event and are already looking forward to future editions.
