International Mass Timber Conference 2026

The 10th annual International Mass Timber Conference is coming up and SCM is ready to join all the innovators, disruptors and forward-thinkers who want to promote a greater use of mass timber in the sector.

AREA GL: New 5-axis machining center for curved glulam beams

High performance, precision and reliability in the machining of straight and curved glulam elements intended for public building roofs, multi-storey buildings and infrastructure projects.

Among its highlights, a work area up to 5×50 meters and the possibility to perform pendulum machining thanks to exclusive mobile fences. Programming and control are managed through the innovative CAM Maestro lab beam&wall and SCM’s Maestro active HMI.

OIKOS XL: 6-axis machining center for structural beams and columns

Any machining operation on all workpiece faces is possible with no repositioning required, thanks to the innovative 6-axis architecture. The new generation machining head unit with its interpolations allows to execute any geometry decreasing downtime and increasing flexibility.

The ideal solution for beams, columns and CLT modular panels of large dimensions. The sturdy structure of the cnc machining center, suitably dimensioned, allows to support and process elements of cross-section up to 1,250x610 mm and weight up to 4,000 kg. Heavy duty material removal are possible even on very hard woods, thanks to a 25 kW electrospindle.

OIKOS XL+: 6-axis machining center with additional saw blade unit

OIKOS XL+ is a cutting-edge CNC machining center for the production of structural beams and columns with a maximum cross-section of 4.10 x 2.00 feet. This advanced solution features a second independent machining unit with a 3.77 feet diameter saw blade, significantly improving processing speed and quality.

Designed to meet the growing demand for multi-storey wooden buildings, OIKOS XL+ can process heavy-duty elements up to 4 tons, ensuring maximum flexibility and precision thanks to the 6-axis main machining head unit..

DMC SYSTEM XL: Sanding-calibrating machine for CLT panels

DMC SYSTEM XL is a high-performance automatic sanding-calibrating machine designed for timber construction. It processes CLT panels up to 12.14 feet wide and 1.64 feet thick, with a modular structure that supports top and bottom sanding in a single pass. The machine offers zero-vibration precision, easy maintenance, and energy-saving features to optimize compressed air consumption.

Designed to meet the latest industry trends, DMC SYSTEM XL delivers superior surface finishing, enhancing the value of visible CLT walls and maintaining the natural look of the wood without additional treatments.

CELASCHI XL: Double-end profiling machine for CLT panels

Specifically designed for timber construction, celaschi xl combines structural strength with advanced technology. It performs all the essential operations for preparing CLT walls, key to precise and fast on-site assembly. Operations that are typically demanding for machining centers are now completed in a single pass, significantly increasing productivity and optimizing the production cycle.

The machine's solid structure eliminates any vibrations during operation, ensuring a top-quality finish. The chain transport system guarantees stable and consistent movement of the workpiece, ensuring absolute precision.
The four 44 kW electrospindles per side provide the necessary power to perform grooves and rebates in a single pass, even on large and high-density elements.

AREA XL: 5-axis mobile gantry machining center for large-format CLT panels

AREA XL is a 5-axis CNC machining center designed for the industrial production of large-format CLT panels. With a 63 kW (85 hp) high-power operating unit, it ensures high productivity and precision, handling panels up to 52.49 x 11.81 x 1.31 feet. The system offers advanced automation, an optional second operating unit for parallel machining, and up to 60 tool stations, including sawblades. Its automated handling and cleaning systems enhance operator efficiency, while the fully enclosed work area with laser barriers guarantees maximum safety.
