MANY ORDERS PLACED AT SCM GROUP UK's OPEN DAYS

Mar 31, 2014

The latest SCM Group UK's Open House was for SCM's distributors and sales staff to meet and demonstrate to their customers, a wide number of woodworking and panel processing machines, many being shown in the UK for the first time. A significant number of orders were placed during the 3 days of the show.

Machines exhibited included CNC Machining Centres models Pratix S12B, Tech Z5-31(5-Axis) and Tech Z1 PRO 31B, new Edgebanders K600 TERL and K400, a Cyflex F900 PRO BR Vertical CNC Drilling, Grooving and Routing Centre, Sigma Impact 90 High Speed Beam Saw, Wide Belt Sander Sandya 600RCS plus a considerable number of Classical Woodworking machines from the SCM and Minimax ranges.

SCM's Product Manager for the Premium Division and responsible for Distributors, Roger Gabb, comments "We were very pleased with the number of customers visiting our Open House, approaching 60 in all, and this was mainly due to our Distributors own promotional activity. Orders were placed for both the edge banders displayed, the Cyflex CNC Drilling machine, the Sigma Beam Saw and CNC Machining Centres with more orders guaranteed to follow in the next few days. Close Asset Finance were on hand to provide and conclude finance deals when required."

"The 5-axis Tech Z5-31 CNC Machining Centre also produced many enquiries and demonstrations, in particular sizing and machining a heavy duty solid wood door, proved of great interest. High performance is guaranteed due to the new "Photobumpers" safety protections (SCM patented solution) and the electrical cabinet is mounted in the machine base saving valuable factory floor space."

"Maximum operator convenience and flexibility of use is due to the PRISMA 5 5-axis routing head that allows easily operating in reduced spaces without the risk of collisions. There are no limits to the possible uses of this versatile group which, with the patented SCM solution, ensures the overall dimensions in each direction of travel are kept to a minimum."

Of the Classical machines displayed, the L'Invincible TI 5 Spindle Moulder with its +/- 45 degree tiltable elctro-spindle, an SCM exclusive solution, which allows maximum available motor power from 3.400rpm provided great interest. An order was placed for the Ten 220 Class Tenoner with ISO 40 system allowing very high working speeds. Minimax machines exhibited included the ME20 Edge Bander and Advance 21 Multiborer.

Machines from the other divisions of the SCM group included Morbidelli Universal TV 3615 and SCM Accord 20 CNC Machining Centres and the popular Stefani Solution HD-RT4 Edge Bander, plus SCM Superset and Profiset 60 Planer Moulders.
