A+ rated timber window production Seminar

On April 20th from 9,30 to 15,30  SCM Group (UK) with its technical advisors will join Leitz  ‘Future-proof timber window production’ seminar at Leeds College of Building.

Along with a selected group of window manufacturing supply and technical partners, Leitz will demonstrate its simple, efficient and effective energy rated tooling solution for timber window production, taking advantage of Leeds College of Building woodworking lab, fully equipped with SCM Traditional machines.

Now available with BFRC (British Fenestration Rating Council) energy rated licences for 36 different variations of timber window manufacture, including A+ rated,  as well as full and ongoing back-up and support from the company, Leitz ThermoTech Window System is considered by its customers as one of the fastest, easy to use, reassuring and profitable systems on the market:

The one-day seminar will include presentations from

  • SCM Group (UK), the leading producer of woodworking machinery for small joiners and large manufacturers of windows and doors, who supports with their user friendly yet advanced equipment the college in the training of hundreds of students every year.  Chris Jackson of SCM Group UK will present the latest capabilities of  programmable and manual spindle moulders and the Tenoning machine / Ten 220 Class 
  • the British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC) on the benefits of timber window licenses and energy ratings for the ThermoTech Window System

The seminar will also include speakers from the British Woodworking Federation (BWF); Accsys Technologies on Accoya Wood; Teknos Coatings; sealing profile specialists for windows and doors, Deventer Weather Seals; Coastal Joinery Hardware, and software supplier to the bespoke joinery market, Joinerysoft.

During the seminar, timber window frames will be machined on site in a matter of minutes, demonstrating how fast, accurate and easily repeatable production is with the Leitz system and SCM spindle moulders.

With companies looking to diversify, keep up-to-date with regulations and seek a competitive advantage - along with the central location of Leeds College of Building - places for the seminar are going quickly. The seminars are accredited by the BWF’s woodworking CPD programme. The Leeds seminar will take place at Leeds College of Building, North Street, Leeds, LS2 7QT on 20th April 2016 starting at 9,30am. Seminar places are charged at £15 per person, which will be donated to local charities.
