Smart&Human innovation made in SCM at IWF 2022

SCM has come back at IWF, North America’s largest woodworking event taking place in Atlanta until August 26.

The trade show is generating interest for the wide range of technologies and services displayed in the innovative and interactive SCM booths. An exclusive offer in the international market that has led the woodworking industry toward ambitious goals for 70 years.

The 70th anniversary of the Group is the theme of the surprises expecting the visitors during these IWF days.
The SCM North America team decided to celebrate this anniversary by highlighting the technological innovation and design of the products and by supporting Semper Fi & America’s Fund, a non-profit organization that supports combat-wounded and critically ill service members.
Innovation and solidarity are the pillars of the special contest organized for the Group’s 70 years. It is dedicated to those clients who made the most original and creative design work thanks to SMC’s machines. 
The winners will be awarded a nova si 400 sliding table saw, one of the most appreciated machines in the woodworking market.
For every entry, SCM will gift Semper Fi & America’s Fund a $100 donation and a further donation of the same value as the sliding table saw.

The Lean Cell makes its debut in Atlanta. It features the new morbidelli x 200 developed specifically for high-speed nesting and robotic sorting and stacking as well as doweling. 
SCM is showing the added dimension of sorting. The cell groups end panels and cabinet parts in a way to keep like cabinet parts together and all aligned on the same axis for edgebanding. The robot is mounted on a 7th axis. This robotic cell uses an improved intelligent vision-guided end-of-arm tool to identify and pick up each panel from a nest and process according to the label barcode data.
The robotic cell sorts parts based on part family as well as common dimensions through our advanced software application.
