SCM TECHNOLOGY FOCUS

TIMBER FRAME, GLULAM BEAMS, MASS TIMBER

SCM offers a range of CNC machining centers with a 6‑axis operating unit to produce all types of beams, ideal for roofing, structural applications such as posts and beams, and mass timber:

oikos x, oikos x+, oikos xl, oikos xl+ 
  • Straight beams with cross-sections from approximately 2″ × 0.8″ min up to 49" x 24" max
  • Round beams with diameters up to approximately 9.5"

In addition, the sturdy and top performance automatic moulder and 4-side planer designed for the straightening of glulam beams and large dimensioned parts in solid wood with the best finish quality.

CAMBER AND CURVED GLULAM BEAMS

CNC machining centers characterized by versatility and full modularity for processing curved glulam beams used in large buildings, sports facilities, and bridges:

  • Curved glulam beams up to approximately 16′ 5″ (w) and 21.7" (t), with a workspace of up to 164′ in length

  • From slightly curved camber beams—allowing up to 10% material savings in large warehouses—to fully curved beams

CLT AND ENGINEERED PANELS

SCM has extensive expertise in CLT panel processing, offering dedicated technologies:
