From SCM, the first machining centre for future woodworking professionals in Bosnia

Bosnia, like the entire Balkans area, is a market where it is not just the number of businesses in wood machining that is on the rise, but also the optimisation of its production processes, bolstering the technological level, from large industries to artisan companies. There is also a strong need for skilled professionals in Bosnia, as well as state-of-the-art solutions in line with technological, digital and 4.0 standards found in European countries.

The new Wood Research and Development Centre, which was established as part of the “Gradiška - the City of Wood” project, is aimed at the entire Bosnian wood supply chain. This project is co-financed by the European Union and the German Government through the EU4Business Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in collaboration with the City Administration of the City of Gradiška and in partnership with the Technical School Gradiška. They have recently chosen SCM to provide them with its first CNC machining centre fitted with every Industry 4.0 requirement.

Under the supervision and support of the Balkans Area Manager Lorenzo Trolese with a great collaboration with the Bosnian dealer Hezo Masine, SCM supplied the flexible and "All-in-one technology" machining centre for drilling and routing morbidelli m100. Being able to train on this technological solution, capable of resolving any kind of panel machining problem, the future Bosnian wood-working professionals have the chance to perform special operations, as well as create pieces in any shape, in line with the most advanced furniture and design demands. The students and their teachers particularly appreciated SCM's Maestro cnc programming software that makes it incredibly easy to meet any production need.

For future 4.0 woodworking artisans in Bosnia, being able to practise on a numerical control machining centre of this level, is a huge advantage: for their future machining skills and experience and for the businesses that one day will benefit from their state-of-the-art know-how.
