Surface Technologies Days at SCM Adria: innovation and expertise for surface finishing

On February 26-27, the SCM Adria Technology Center in Trzin, Slovenia, hosted the Surface Technologies Days, a two-day event dedicated to the most advanced solutions for finishing and surface treatment in the woodworking industry. The initiative attracted numerous customers from the Balkan region and Eastern Europe, confirming strong interest in high-performance, reliable technologies focused on delivering superior end results.

The event showcased SCM solutions for finishing, sanding, and pressing, with a particular focus on Superfici, dmc, and sergiani technologies, long-standing benchmarks in these application areas. Among the solutions demonstrated were Superfici mini, dmc system t, and dmc sd 60, all fully operational during the live sessions.

The demonstrations provided a complete and integrated overview of the finishing process, presenting all stages in sequence: from raw panel preparation to sanding, coating application, and final finishing. In particular, the Superfici mini automatic spraying machine and the dmc system t wide belt sander, equipped with six operating units, highlighted the high quality achievable on both flat and profiled surfaces, as well as on raw and coated panels.

Participants experienced first-hand the effectiveness of SCM technologies in ensuring simpler, faster production processes with consistent results over time. This is especially relevant in the Balkan market, where finishing technologies represent a highly specialized and continuously evolving field.

The event welcomed customers mainly from Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, with additional attendance from Hungary and Romania. The audience included a wide range of professionals, from carpenters to specialized manufacturers of furniture, doors, windows, flooring, and other woodworking applications. Attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with SCM product specialists, receiving targeted technical advice and insights into the most suitable solutions for their production needs.

The experience was further enhanced by the participation of key technology partners – SIRCA, Nastroflex, ICRO, and Sherwin-Williams – who supplied materials for the demonstrations (coatings and abrasives) and presented their own solutions, contributing to a fully integrated ecosystem of expertise and innovation.

In addition to the live demonstrations, visitors had the opportunity to tour the SCM Adria Technology Center and explore further SCM technologies, in an environment designed to foster dialogue, knowledge sharing, and new business opportunities.

The Surface Technologies Days represented an important opportunity to strengthen our presence in the Balkan region and reinforce direct relationships with our customers,” commented Lorenzo Trolese, SCM Regional Manager Balkans. “The strong interest and participation confirmed the value of events like this, allowing us to demonstrate the concrete benefits of our technologies and support customers in developing increasingly efficient and competitive production processes.

The Surface Technologies Days proved to be a valuable opportunity for networking and professional development, appreciated not only for the technological content but also for the chance to build new connections and strengthen relationships within the industry.

With initiatives like this, SCM continues to support its customers in their journey toward smarter, more efficient, and quality-driven manufacturing.
