Great enthusiasm for SCM innovations at IWF

30 اوت 2022

North America has always been a strategic market for SCM, and the IWF exhibition held in Atlanta from August 23 to 26 once again demonstrated how close the Italian Group is to the entire woodworking industry at a time of very strong demand for technological solutions making production processes even more innovative, efficient and sustainable.

SCM, strong in this market with double-digit sales growth in 2021, presented the widest range of technologies for panel, solid wood and joinery at the international level.

Many new products were on display. For the machining of windows, doors, stairs and solid wood elements, the accord 500 CNC machining center made its official debut, which literally surprised the IWF audience with its many pluses aimed at considerable time savings, greatly simplified tool management (with more than 100 parts always on hand), and very high finishing standards.

For panel processing, in addition to the Smart&Human Lean Cell and its flagship model - the morbidelli x200 nesting CNC machining center - a leading role was played by the brand new stefani x industrial edgebander, designed for intensive production on three daily shifts, with a speed of up to 30 meters per minute and gluing devices in line with the highest industry standards. Not forgetting Easy Cart, another novelty on display, developed to optimize the handling and maintenance of polyurethane glues.

Also on the spotlight were SCM Surface Technologies solutions capable of giving an elegant and exclusive finishing touch to every surface treatment request. Outstanding among the wide range of SCM wide belt sanders was the dmc system with carving units, for the high productivity creation of exclusive 3D surface finishes on solid wood, mdf and similar materials. Other latest innovations on show were the planetary unit and the FINESAND orbital unit, which are among the best solutions available on the American market for high quality finishing of kitchen doors.

Also new for the end-of-line with the cut c200 automatic die-cutting machine for just-in-time cutting and production of cardboard packaging, in line with market trends.

In the Digital Integrated Woodworking Process area, the SCM team delved into the important opportunities coming from software and digital services combined with both automation systems and joinery machines. There was no shortage of focus on the latest Woodworking made Izy, the platform that sees the most important European manufacturers engaged in finding a common language for their technologies with a view to total integration of customer machines.

The SCM booth also had great space for the Group's 70th Anniversary and the special contest dedicated to customers who were able to create the most original and creative design works. Ten finalists competed for a nova si 400 sliding carriage circular saw. Among them Ed Schwartz won with his amazing "Grandfather Clock." Thanks to the many entries in the contest, SCM was able to donate a total sum of $21,400 to Semper Fi & America's Fund demonstrating SCM's close proximity to War Veterans and their families.>

Thanks to all the customers and partners who together with the SCM team contributed to this great new edition of IWF. The next appointment with the well-known U.S. fair will be August 20-23, 2024.
