Luigi De Vito appointed vice-president of Acimall

Luigi De Vito, Scm Group woodworking machinery division director, has been appointed vice-president of the Italian woodworking machinery and tools manufacturers’ association. Luigi De Vito was appointed to the post at the meeting on Saturday 24 June, which unanimously confirmed as Acimall president Lorenzo Primultini, owner of Marano Vicentino-based Primultini. The president wanted Luigi De Vito of Scm and Raphael Prati of Biesse to work alongside him. Since September 2016 Luigi De Vito has been vice-president of Eumabois, the European federation of woodworking machinery manufacturers represented by national associations.

The woodworking machinery manufacturing sector is experiencing strong growth and, following his appointment at Acimall, Luigi De Vito expressed his hope that the association will be able to make a difference in three areas:

  • Strengthening Acimall’s supporting and guiding role in the development of ideas promoting the domestic and international growth of business for Italian companies.
  • Developing stronger relationships between the various industrial associations, to increase their influence over institutions and make governments aware of legislative issues concerning innovations, such as the action covered by the Industry 4.0 plan, and other areas of interest.
  • Increasing Italian companies’ promotional tools by means of trade fairs and dedicated workshops.

Luigi De Vito, 44 years old, married with three children, is a Business Economics - Industrial Management graduate of LUISS University. His highly successful career has included time at Unilever, where he headed the continental level supply chain and customer care. With a decade of experience in the woodworking sector, De Vito came to Scm in September 2012 as Woodworking machinery division director.
