Diary at Ligna. An incredible start for SCM

28 May 2019

Already excellent attendance and plenty of enthusiasm on the first day of the trade fair for SCM's huge, elegant stand. Visitors to Ligna, the main international event dedicated to wood machining technologies, have hastened in droves from all five continents and showed a great deal of interest in the “made in SCM” innovations. Out of the more than sixty technological solutions on display until 31 May at stand C56 in Hall 13, it is the Smart&Human Factory that stands out. It is revolutionising the furniture industry by integrating flexible and modular state of the art automated cells with industrial and collaborative robotics. Visitors have had a chance to find out more about it, together with the specific new introductions to the digital and 4.0 factory both in the dedicated area and the SCM Arena, heart of the stand, thanks to the four demos set up in front of the exclusive leadwall. The same demos will be shown each day at 10, 12, 14 and 1600 hours with the help of Manuela Andreani, Software Product Manager, Alessandra Benedetti, Service and Spare Parts Manager and Giacomo Montanelli from SCM Engineering.

Yet another proud moment on this first day was a visit from Hans-Joachim Fuchtel, the German Secretary of State welcomed by the Group's President, Giovanni Gemmani, together with Luigi De Vito, SCM Director and Gian Luca Fariselli, Communications Director. Together with his staff, Mr Fuchtel took a tour of the stand as far as the Surface area in a bid to find out more about the best of made in Italy technology holding centre stage during these days in Hanover.

The involvement of the Italian Group in the Ligna Forum is also an indication of the prestige and solidity of the SCM brand. Today, it was Alberto Fiorani, the BU Manager who gave a talk on the subject of “Smart Surface Technology”.

Ligna continues at the Hanover Exhibition Centre until 31 May.
