Lignar & SCM 2018 Open House
2 Feb 2018Lignar Engineering, the Woodworking and Dust Control arm of the Tan’s now 3rd Generation Family Business, held their regular Lignar + SCM Open House in January 2018. With 120 years of combined experience, 8 years of partnership between 2 family businesses, the result is 1 leading regional position in the industry.
Lignar + SCM 2018 Open House Guest of Honor, President of SFIC Mr Mark Yong opened the show explaining the need for the industry to improve with the times. Lignar + SCM 2018 Open House highlighted key technologies to a near 300 strong crowd that flew in from around the region. At the same time, Lignar’s younger 3rd Generation was introduced to the industry, bringing in a stronger and more forward-thinking team.
Through the Open House, major and upcoming industry players in contract manufacturing, events, furniture production and education institutions better understood the benefits of SCM’s Lean Cell 4.0 in space constrained Singapore.
More importantly, being the only integrated woodworking machinery showroom and training centre in Singapore, the industry had two takeaways. Firstly, how a typical Singapore factory space was maximized to accommodate a complete line of SCM Panel Saw, Edgebander, CNC, backed by Lignar’s Dust Control System and familiarity with regulations. Secondly, the training support for our customers and their staff – perhaps, like no other in the region.
With the strong support of the SCM Team, such as individual specialists that flew in from Italy, clients were able to have their enquiries answered on the spot. Lignar SCM Open House 2018 was a great success, with several keen enquiries and confirmed orders.
