Great success for SCM's "Drilling is no longer boring" event: the new era of drilling starts now

Oct 22, 2018

A resounding success, with hundreds of visitors from all over the world: the latest products by Scm were met with great interest and appreciation. The open-house event "Drilling is no longer boring", organised from 18 to 20 October in the Technology Center of the Scm Headquarters of Rimini to present a preview of the new morbidelli NC drilling machinery, showcased the excellent teamwork of the SCM designers, technicians and specialists who accepted this new high-tech challenge. As happened last year with "Author R-Evolution" for the launch of our "all-in-one" machining centres, and as will also happen with the next, automation-themed "Smart & Human Factory" event (31 January-2 February 2019), Scm's goal was to provide, on the first day, training for the sales network - a critical opportunity for building a close-knit, successful SCM team at an international level. On the other two days, the focus was on welcoming hundreds of customers from all over the world (and in particular from Europe, Asia and South America).

Unrivalled productivity, quality and top class finishing, unlimited flexibility, automation and the possibility of integration with collaborative robots. All this at highly competitive prices. The following are the main strengths of the new drilling solutions presented during the event: morbidelli cx220 and 210, the standard-setters in the "compact" category, and morbidelli ux200d, complete and flexible, in response to the needs of an increasingly customised and integrated production. New, exclusive features have recently been added to our designs - as specified by the Scm Machining Centres BU Manager, Bruno di Napoli: fully redesigned drilling heads, new custom-made spindles and new panel return devices with automatic unloading, for up to 60% shorter cycle times thanks to the new range of morbidelli cx210 and 220; and new, exclusive dowel joining system, Clamex spindles and possible integration into production lines with morbidelli ux200d.

The curtain came down on the drilling days, but the industry's attention is already focused on our next "open house" event scheduled for January. There are great expectations for the new man-robot integration solutions, the core products of the next event. The goal, says Luigi De Vito, Scm Division Manager, is "to help our customers increasingly improve their productivity and business trends, in line with the ever-changing challenges posed by the market". The new event will take place once again at our Technology Center in Rimini, from 31 January to 2 February, 2019. See you there!
