Additive Talk (Ep.6) - The History

May 24, 2022

Maurizio Bernini went to the prestigious Fraunhofer IWU Institute in Chemnitz to interview Christopher Schlegel for the sixth episode in this series.

The Fraunhofer IWU is one of the most important research centers in the world, one of the driving forces in R&D innovation for production engineering. They study new potential for competitive production in the automobile and mechanical engineering sectors as well as aerospace technology, medical engineering, electric engineering, micro-engineering, and precision.

During their chat, Christopher Schlegel and Maurizio Bernini retrace the story of the partnership between Fraunhofer IWU and CMS that led to the creation of the CMS kreator, the unique LFAM (Large Format Additive Manufacturing) solution, a hybrid system for additive manufacturing and milling.
