Timber houses: SCM alongside industry professionals at the Forum in Tallinn

آذار 7, 2019

Extensive participation of the general public at the Forum Wood Building Baltic 2019 in Tallinn, Estonia, the first Forum organised in the Baltic Countries on the singularly trending subject-matter of timber construction. According to the organisers, around half of the visitors came from industry companies. The remaining visitors were teaching staff and students from the world of education and freelancers linked to the timber construction industry, such as engineers, architects and designers.

The event's programme, running from 27 February to 1 March, was vast and arranged into numerous related conferences and seminars. Timber construction is a market experiencing a continuous and significant transversal period of growth internationally and, therefore, has an even greater need for up-to-date solutions. SCM also took part in the event with Product Area Manager, Luciano Tagliaferri and Area Manager, Andrea Li Puma. A valuable opportunity to take a closer look, along with other key players in the industry, at the latest products designed and developed by SCM for the sector, starting with the new Oikos X six-axes machining centre. The Baltic countries, and especially Estonia, have a large number of construction companies specialising in eco-construction. Timber is still the most important raw material used for its extraordinary potential in terms of eco-sustainability, appearance, comfort and safety. During the event, it was particularly noted how the X-Iam is proving a significant success.

But this is not the end of the International Forum HolzBau: next stop on the itinerary is Riga, in Latvia then Vilnius, in Lithuania.
